Meet Venus Poe
When it comes to hiring an attorney you have a lot of choices. You may have looked at other attorney’s websites and tried to do your homework. So why should you hire me? I can help you. I deal with the insurance company, your health insurance company and the investigation of your case. My clients come back to me and refer their friends and family to me because I take the time to personally listen to you, give you honest advice and take care of the details for you so you can concentrate on getting better. For me, being an attorney is not just a job, it is a calling. I am aggressive and work hard in each case so that you get the best results and that you feel confident and referring your friends and family to us in the future. Our relationship with our clients is important to us.
I was raised by my grandmother. She waited tables to provide for me. I worked in high school and then work full-time while attending the College of Charleston and the University of South Carolina School of Law to pay my way through. I know what it’s like to live paycheck to paycheck. I know what it’s like to be fearful of losing a job because of an injury.
I am a member of the South Carolina State Bar, and I am licensed to practice before all state courts in South Carolina, the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina, the United State Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and the United States Supreme Court.
I am a certified Circuit Court Mediator. I am a former President of the South Carolina Bar Young Lawyers Division and founded the South Carolina Bar’s Leadership Academy. I served on the South Carolina Bar Board of Governors. I currently serve on the South Carolina Bar’s House of Delegates and Board of Directors for the South Carolina Bar Foundation. I am on the Bar’s Practice and Procedure Committee and Publications Committee. I also serve on the South Carolina Fee Disputes Board. I am a member of the South Carolina Association for Justice.
Why is all of this important for you? My involvement with the Bar and personal injury organizations helps keep me up to date on the latest in court developments, jury verdicts and trends to better serve you and give you the most honest and informed advice for your case.
I became a lawyer to serve my clients and also my community. I am a former Board member of the Simpsonville Chamber of Commerce and founder of the Simpsonville Chamber of Commerce Foundation. I currently serve as a Board member for the Fountain Inn Chamber of Commerce and will be President of the Fountain Inn Rotary Club in 2017.
I grew up in Greenville, South Carolina and moved to Fountain Inn, South Carolina in eighth grade. My husband and I have three children. When I am not practicing law, I am busy running children to sports practice, leading my middle son’s cub scout den and rooting for the South Carolina Gamecocks.
